13 Week Belly Shots

This is passing faster than I thought it would. I can't believe that I'm already at 13 weeks! In just a few more weeks, we'll know (hopefully) what we're going to have. If you haven't voted yet, please do! It's at the top left hand corner of my blog. Click on the gender you think this little one is! It's that simple!
As you can see in these pictures, I'm definitely starting to poke out a little bit. A few people have even commented on the fact that they can definitely see a little belly starting to show. I have maternity clothes thanks to my good friend, Dara, but I'm not nearly ready for them. I can still get by with my old clothes; I just have to fix them up and make them pregnant girl friendly. I bought 3 belly bands off Ebay and they are WONDERFUL! I can wear them with anything in my wardrobe. They look like a layering undershirt when you wear them with jeans. The best part about them is I can wear my pre-pregnancy pants unbuttoned under the band and the band holds them up for me! They are so comfortable!

2nd Doctor's Appointment

About a week ago, I had my 2nd doctor's appointment with Dr. Daigle. This one was extra special though, because Josh, my mom, and my dad were there with me. I wasn't sure if they were going to do a sonogram again, but they did (obviously, since I posted the sonogram pictures a week ago). Josh got to go back with me first. We did the normal pregnancy stuff (the cup, weight, blood pressure, temperature). My weight I'm happy to say had only gone up 1.5 lbs. It appears I only felt like Shamu; I didn't actually weigh the same. Thankfully, my blood pressure was back to normal as well. The first time I went to the doctor, I was so tense that they had to take my blood pressure twice. The second reading was still high for me personally, but it was normal for their standards. This time I was back to my normal blood pressure reading, which is usually very low.

While she was doing all these check-ups, I asked if they planned on doing another sonogram today. She said they were so I asked if my parents, who had driven in from out of town, could watch. She said Yes! I was so excited. I went and got mom and dad and the four of us--me, Josh, mom, and dad--went to the sonogram room. I don't know what it is, but I always get so nervous while I'm waiting on that table. It doesn't help when the doctor takes like 30 minutes to get back there, too! Talk about anxiety build up! Dr. Carey (Dr. Daigle's partner) came finally. We made the introductions and then came the exciting part. It was so fun to see how much my little one had grown in just 4 weeks! (I must be feeding him very well!) He had more than tripled in size and was squirming and moving all over the place! Josh was a little lost for words when he saw our baby on the screen--not because he was moved with emotion, but because he couldn't tell what in the world he was seeing! Finally, he asked someone to point out all the parts. Dr. Carey did more than that, he turned on the 4D and we got to see our baby up close! To think that at 11 weeks, he/she has arms and legs, a heart that's beating, a little nose and mouth...it was so sweet! What a miracle life truly is! At one point during the exam, Mom and Josh both promise they saw the baby stick it's tongue out and pull it back in really quickly. Dr. Carey even went back to see if they were right, but he said it was just the umbilical cord. Mom and Josh weren't convinced. They both think I have a little Gene Simmons for a baby in my belly! Dr. Carey finished up the exam and said everything looked great. My due date is still November 3. I'm so glad I got to share this special moment with Josh and my parents!

Sonogram Pictures

I'll post later, but I thought you might enjoy seeing some pictures of Baby Wilson. Look at how big he/she has grown in just 4 weeks!! Baby Wilson is measuring 11 weeks and 4 days. I saw Dr. Carey today and he said that my due date is probably going to be around November 4th. Only 29 more weeks to go!

Baby's 1st Gifts

Ever since we announced our pregnancy, Josh and I have been receiving small gifts from family and close friends. I wanted to show everything we have received and give credit to everyone who generously gave them to us. I've included labels with the names of the gift givers in this picture. We would both like to say how much we appreciate your generosity. Your outpouring of love and your excitement during this time mean so much to us. Thank you!

People have also been giving gifts to the happy parents to be. My mother-in-law gave me a Willow Tree figurine called "Cherish" which I absolutely love. Josh is a little freaked out by it because the woman doesn't have a face. He says that's creepy.

Sarah, a good friend at school, gave me the book that every pregnant woman reads, "What To Expect When You're Expecting." Nicki gave me a lot of pregnancy books. I think my favorite book that she gave me so far is a journal for expectant moms and dads. I used to write in a journal a lot, so having a journal where I can write letters to my unborn child is amazing. I can't wait until we can read them together!

Our kid neighbors across the street, the Orths, gave us several pregnancy books. They were kind enough to include a book for Josh. Poor thing, he's kind of been left out when it comes to gifts for the dad. Sabrina found a very cute book that all guys will appreciate, I think, called "My Boys Can Swim!" LOL! How funny is that? Josh hasn't read it yet; I have. It's a guy's guide to what is happening to their wife's body.

Once again, thanks to all of you for your kindness and support during this incredible time in our lives. It's so nice that we can share this moment with friends and family.

10 Week Belly Shots

It's hard to believe that it's already been a little over a month since Josh and I found out we were going to have a baby. How the time does fly! Things are going great. I am so blessed to say that I have not been sick at all. I feel great!

This week I will go for my second visit to Dr. Daigle. My mom and dad are coming in town to come to the visit and Josh is going to be there as well. Josh is the only one that can come back for the exam, but I'm hoping that they do an ultrasound so my parents can see the baby and hear the heartbeat. It has been so hard waiting for this next appointment. I have a feeling that the waiting will get harder and harder as my pregnancy progresses.

On another positive note, I'm on spring break from school this week! Woo Hoo! I'm so glad that I have a week to relax and be a housewife for the week. It's my little preview of summer vacation, which when I get back to school, is only 25 school days away. I'm hoping to clean out the back bedroom, which is going to end up being the baby's room one day, sometime this week. This room has kind of been the workout/Josh's room/filing room/storage room since we moved into this house 2 years ago. I've got a lot of work ahead of me. Wish me luck!

Here are my 10 week belly shots. I am exactly 10 weeks today. We'll find out exactly where I am this Friday. Keep saying those prayers :)

7 weeks Belly Shots

I know 7 weeks was a long time ago, but here are the pictures that I took that week. As you can see, not much has changed. I've heard that first time moms don't show very soon, but I'm ready for it! Bring on the big belly!

I'm Terrible at Blogging

To all the people-family, friends, strangers-who come to my blog daily to see if I have updated anything, let me just say I'm sorry. I am not very good at this whole blogging thing. I was doing really well at the beginning, but then nothing really exciting happened, so I didn't write. I apologize and in the future will try to do better. I'm going to make an attempt to write at least once a week (please notice I said attempt).

Okay, now that my disclaimer is out, I can go on. These are some old pictures, but I need to put them on here because they mean so much to me. These pictures are of the day I told my class at school that I was expecting. I put a poem on my Smart Board for them to copy in their journal as soon as they came in class. I told them that this was a very special riddle poem and they had to guess what my big surprise was. I made sure that they knew to keep their answers a secret. I teach first grade and they love games where they have to keep secrets.

As they were writing, I walked around to see if any of my kiddos had guessed my secret. Some of the answers I got were funny. One of my kids saw the words "It won't be here until November" and automatically thought about turkeys. He thought my big surprise was that I was getting a turkey. Another child saw the line "It's tiny and cuddly and sometimes cries" and thought I was talking about a puppy.

About this same time as my kids are writing, my principal, Ms. Polk, comes on the intercom to make her daily announcements, say the pledge of allegiance, and have the moment of silence. In the middle of her announcements, Ms. Polk says, "Teachers, please make sure you stop by Mrs. Wilson's classroom and tell her congratulations." I was so worried that she was about to spill the beans and ruin my riddle poem. Thankfully, that's all she said, but then I had a rush of teachers come to my room to hug me. Of course, now my kids are REALLY suspicious. Finally, after about 15 minutes, I get out my camera and record them reading the poem. I tell the ones who know the answer to shout it out at the end. (They were supposed to wait until after I said "Three" but they were too excited!) I tried to post the video but Blogger takes so long uploading it. I'll try again later.

It was so much fun to be able to share this news with my class. They couldn't believe that I was going to have a baby because I was too skinny. I reassured them that I would be very big by the time they were in 2nd grade next year. I can't wait to go back to school in August and have a pregnant belly. I am so excited!
