A Visit from Ms. Lori

Our good friend and Daddy's old boss, Ms. Lori came to visit us several weeks ago, and it was SO good to see her again. Since we moved here eight years ago (WOW! I can't believe it's been that long!), we haven't been able to see her that much. She met Eli after he was just born and has only seen him one other time. When we lived in the same city as she does, we used to go to her house all the time. We loved spending time with her. She had an available weekend and so did we, so she drove here to see us, Eli, and the new house. We had such a WONDERFUL visit with her! Eli immediately claimed her as his new friend and took her all around the house showing her his room downstairs, his toys, and his playroom upstairs.

Eli and Ms. Lori

Warning to all guests who come to see us, you will probably enter into a war zone. It seems that every time we have a guest, the Nerf guns and the swords come out and a battle ensues. It was no different with Ms. Lori. She and Eli teamed up against Daddy!

Daddy wasn't going down that easily though and found all the Nerf guns for our battle to begin. It was Eli, me, and Ms. Lori versus Daddy. We had so much fun hiding behind doors, ducking into corners, running all over and shooting each other.

I forget who claimed victory but in the end we called a truce and the war was over. We were all EXHAUSTED! Our visit with Ms. Lori was so much fun, and we can't wait until we get to see her again!

Just Being a Boy

Not too long ago, Eli and his Daddy had a day where they were mostly outside doing boy stuff. Our winter has been so incredibly mild this year that we've had lots of days like this. Eli loves being outside and I'm usually the woo-woo that wants to be inside if it's cold. I'm so thankful for days when the weather is mild and we can all be outside together.

First thing on their to do list was to wash Josh's truck. Eli's job was to wash the tires with the brush.

That job didn't last too long because Eli found the water hose and immediately assumed all authority over the water hose. He may or may not have sprayed his Daddy several times with the water hose :)

Then Eli found his bike and rode up and down the driveway more times than I could count.

I'm very ready for the weather to warm up so we can be outside even more!

Surprise Visit from Aunt Lisa and Uncle Dave

We all got a surprise visit from Aunt Lisa, Uncle Dave, and Allison in January when they came down for Sara's shower for Brett. Later on that night, most of the family came over to our house for taco soup and to watch a football game. (I wish I remembered what game it was that they watched because I think it was important, but I can't!)

Eli didn't let them watch much though because he was all about playing with Uncle Dave and Aunt Lisa that night. He and Uncle Dave played sword fight, then we all had a Nerf gun battle all over the house. It was CRAZY FUN! Nerf Darts were flying everywhere!

Mamaw and Papaw came to visit and we did our best to not hit them during the Nerf war. They sure did get a kick out of watching all of us crazy nuts running all over the house shooting at each other though!

After the war, Eli got his bath and then he and Aunt Lisa went to his bed so they could read his bedtime story. He loved listening to her read and kept asking her to read the story over and over again.

Sunday morning after Sunday school we went to Mamaw and Papaw's house to see Dave and Lisa again. Eli claimed Dave's attention and the first thing they did together was put together one of his Cars puzzles.

After playing inside for awhile, we headed outside to play. It was such a beautiful day! Eli posed for a couple of pictures and then it was all about playing! I'm just glad I managed to get a couple good ones before his patience ran out!

Eli has expressed an interest in soccer, so Josh has been playing soccer with him a lot outside lately. We even bought him a little net for him to practice kicking the ball into. He loves it! Neither one of us know much about soccer, but I guess we're going to need to learn so we know what our little boy is doing when he plays!

When they were tired of playing soccer, they switched to football. Eli loves all sports, if you can't tell :) They worked on catching and kicking the football today.

I love my two boys so much! Lately, Eli will crawl into Josh's lap or run and give him a hug and then say, "Daddy, you're my best bud." MELT. MY. HEART.

After all the sporting events were over, we headed to the backyard so Eli could run and play some more.

He even showed us his gymnastics ability :)

Jordan and Addi

Grant and Addison eventually came over with their parents, so before we all left I tried my best to get a good picture of all three of the little ones. I can't believe how fast they are growing!
