Feeding the Ducks

The Saturday after finding out that I was going to be Tinsley's aunt, we all spent the day shopping, eating, and having fun. After lunch, Mom, Andrea's mom, and Andrea went to look at baby bedding and furniture, so Eli and I went to the Duck Pond with Pop. The weather was just slightly chilly, but otherwise it was a gorgeous day. I'm still practicing with my camera getting used to the different settings so I took lots of pictures of my dad and Eli. Consider yourself warned :)

After they fed the ducks for a little while, we walked down to the playground so Eli could play.

I mentioned in a previous post about Eli's agility getting much better. The last time we came to this park he couldn't climb this rope ladder at all, but this time he zipped up there so fast! In fact, he was so confident about it that I was slightly worried he might go up too quickly and miss a step. I really had no cause to worry though because he had it (and because my dad was always standing right behind him just in case!).

Oh, how I love Saturdays in the park!

Eli climbed all the way to the top of these monkey bars, but when it was time to go across the middle part so he could climb down, he got a little scared. Pop showed him how to drop down and then helped him cross like a monkey :) Eli got a kick out of that!

Can I tell you how much I love it when he scrunches up that little nose of his?
It makes me smile so much!

It was a great day spent at the park. I hope we can go back at least one more time before it gets too warm to do anything. I love being able to be outside all day long!

What Will Baby Dixon Be?? He or She??

If you didn't know, my brother, Josh, and his wife, Andrea, are expecting their first child in August. I cannot tell you how excited I am that I get to be an aunt! (The only aunt, too, because all the other siblings are brothers!!!) Rather than finding out what they were having and telling everyone via Facebook or email, they decided to have a Gender Revealing Party. Eli and I left town early and went to spend the weekend with my parents again so we could go to the party.

Everyone was supposed to wear either pink or blue to show what they thought the baby was going to be. All week long I planned on wearing pink, but at the last minute I changed to blue. Eli, of course, wanted blue because "dat's my favwit cuyuh." We got to the restaurant and loved being able to see what color everyone was wearing. Josh and Andrea had a cake made for the special event, and I thought it was the cutest thing ever!

Mom had one of her graphic designer friends at work make these special buttons for everyone to wear to show whether they were "Team Jenner" or "Team Tinsley."

I was the only one with the camera at this party (surprise, surprise) so I made sure to take plenty of pictures of the special event :) What would my family do without me? All these important family events would go undocumented!

The proud parents-to-be

Grandma with Josh and Andrea

The proudest aunt-to-be ever!

Andrea decided to show off her baby bump a little before the big reveal to see if any of us wanted to change our minds. Unfortunately, she is not showing that much so her bump wasn't much help at all.

One of Andrea's aunt made a cute little onesie for the event and had everyone sign their name on it as a way to remember this event.

Before the big reveal, they opened a couple of gifts for the baby. My brother loves Notre Dame and Andrea loves LSU, so I guess they're going to be a house divided when it comes to sports.

Then it was time for the moment we were all waiting on...time to find out whether the baby was a Jenner or a Tinsley...

Josh started to cut the cake...

He pulled the knife out to slice the other side and...

We saw that the cake was PINK! I love Andrea's face in all these pictures! She wanted a little girl SOOO badly!!

It's going to be a sweet little Tinsley!!!

We were all so happy! Now we'll have a little girl to love on!

All the people that were Team Tinsley

All the people that were Team Jenner

After we found out it was a girl, we got to see their sonogram pictures. Andrea was showing her mother one of Tinsley putting her hand on her cheek and squishing it. I can't wait to kiss those sweet little cheeks!

Then we all watched the ultrasound video, and it was so fun to see my little niece moving all around in Andrea's belly. I keep telling her how magical and simply miraculous pregnancy is, especially when you get to feel your baby moving inside you. I can't wait for her to feel those precious little kicks and bumps from Tinsley. It's something I told her she would miss when Tinsley is born so enjoy it and soak it all in.

It's hard to believe that it's been 3 years since this precious little face was inside my belly. He has grown up so fast and I have LOVED every single minute of being his Mommy. My hope is that Andrea gets as much joy out of being Tinsley's mommy as I have being Eli's...and I know she will :)
