Eli's 1st Wee Ball Game

The day of Eli's first wee ball game was so much fun! Eli met his team at the new ball fields Saturday around lunch time. I was a little worried about his first game being during lunch and then running into his normal nap time, but it ended up being okay. We got there early enough that Eli and Josh were able to catch the last part of another team's game. Eli couldn't wait to play!

Before the game started, Eli's team had to take their team pictures. THAT was QUITE interesting! The sun was shining directly in their eyes so Dara told them to all close their eyes and open on the count of 3. The only problem was that no one counted to 3 :) In their first couple of pictures all the kids have their eyes closed...HILARIOUS!

They FINALLY got one that everyone was happy with and then it was time for their team to play!

My two boys!

Eli and his team headed into their dugout until it was their turn to take the field. Since it's wee ball, they let the parents out on the field to help out when needed or to take pictures in my case :)

My little ball player :)

Eli's team did a great job. The kids are only four and five so we go into each game knowing that their attention span is not going to be the greatest, but they're still playing great!

You gotta love wee ball...EVERYONE runs for the ball when it's hit :)

Remember what I said about the game being around nap time? Eli yawned for several plays of the game. I guess he was really tired.

Finally, it was Eli's turn to bat. He was so excited! He had a great hit and ran his hardest to his Daddy at first base.

He made his way around to Mr. Guy at second base.

Then his friend, Hayden, had a great hit and brought him to third base.

And finally he made it back to home plate!

Mrs. Dara was there to give him a huge high five!

One of my favorite parts of the game is how all the players line up at the end to tell each other "Good game." I love that they're teaching them good sportsmanship at such a young age.

It was such a fun day at the ball fields! We can't wait for more!

Happy Easter

The night before Easter was very busy for us. After our whirlwind day at the mall, we all met at Olive Garden (LOVE THAT PLACE!) to eat. We got back to my parents' house and Eli went ahead and changed into his jammies that way he'd be ready for bed. Around this time, I started feeling awful (Little did I know this was the beginning of a 2 week battle I was going to have with strep throat and a sinus infection...YAY ME!)

The first thing we did was Eli's Resurrection Eggs. I love these eggs because they tell the story of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection in such a kid-friendly way. Eli really enjoyed going through each egg and re-telling what each item in the egg represented. He did his eggs once with me and twice with Pop. It made my heart so happy to hear him want to tell the story over and over.

Next, it was time to dye Easter eggs. Eli and Pop did this activity together since they're best buds :)

These boys are two peas in a pod!

We all went to bed and crashed. We were all exhausted after our busy day, but couldn't wait to go celebrate Jesus the next morning. When we woke up, we were excited to see that the Easter Bunny had filled our baskets with some yummy treats. Eli must have been really good because he got lots of nice goodies including the flip-glasses that he'd been wanting! He had lots of fun digging through both of his baskets to see what was in them.

The Easter Bunny didn't leave the big kids out either. We all got a gift card to Sonic :)

We all met up at my parents' church and listened to a wonderful sermon. They just started going to this church and I really enjoyed it. It was around this time though that I realized that I was running fever and just feeling miserable. We left church and came back to my parents' house to eat lunch. Miss Tinsley was able to look at her Easter basket and see what goodies the Easter Bunny left her.

After making sure Easter lunch was almost ready, we all went outside to take our annual Easter pictures. Tinsley was in such a good mood :) Get ready for picture overload...

Next up, our little family...

Then it was time for the grandparents to have some pictures with the grandbabies.

Eli had to have some pictures with his new friend, Buddy.

Eli and Tinsley were especially sweet together.

Last up, was the big group picture. This took several tries but eventually we ended up with a good one.

Next up, it was time for Eli and Tinsley to hunt Easter eggs. Tinsley needed some assistance from her Mommy and Daddy this year, but next year she'll be running right with Eli.

Look at all those eggs they found!

It was a great Easter! I hate that the weekend ended with me getting sick, but I had such a great time being with my family and getting to celebrate Jesus' resurrection. I can't wait to celebrate many more wonderful days like this with them!
