Happy 5th Birthday, Hannah!

I can't believe that our little Hannah is actually five years old now. Can five years really have gone by that quickly? I love watching our babies get older, but this five year milestone makes them seem so old to me! Now that Hannah has turned five that means in eight short weeks, Eli is going to be five as well! Wow!

Diane had Hannah's party at a new party place that opened up in our town. It's full of bounce houses for the kids and they can run from one to the other as much as they like. Eli was so excited about going to see Hannah. She is still his #1 best friend and I hope they stay that way for a long time. They truly and genuinely love each other like brother and sister and it is the most precious thing ever. We love our Hargon friends!

They turned on the black lights for the kids at one point and everyone started glowing.

After letting the kids jump and play for a little over an hour, we all made our way to the party room for pizza, juice, and cake.

Happy Birthday, Miss Hannah! We love you so much and have loved watching you grow into such a sweet little girl over these past 5 years. We can't wait to see how much you grow in the years to come! 

Eli's 1st Soccer Game

Like I mentioned in the previous post, Eli and I had to leave Grammy and Pop's house early Sunday morning so we could make it back in time for his first soccer game. We were all so excited for opening day! Before we left, I took some pictures of Eli in his soccer uniform at our house.

We got to the soccer fields and the first thing they did was take their team pictures. The sun was really bright so Eli informed the photographer that he'd like to do the "1-2-3 open your eyes" trick. Every time the photographer got to "3", Eli opened his eyes really wide and also opened his hand at the same time. It was pretty funny. I'll be curious to see what his pictures from the photographer end up looking like. 

After all the individual shots, they took a team photo. Eli is one of the youngest players on his team. Most of the other kids are in kindergarten or first grade, but he doesn't seem to notice the age or size difference. 

They had a quick team meeting before the game started and then it was time to take the field.

I wish I could tell you tons of details about the game, but I'm really pretty clueless. I played one season in high school, but it was on a co-ed team and the girls really didn't get to play that much. Josh has never played soccer at all or watched it, so we're kind of learning as we go. If this becomes a sport Eli truly enjoys, we might have to buy a "Soccer for Dummies" book. 

Pretty soon it was halftime and one of Eli's favorite parts of soccer...refreshment time :)

So you know that kid who always likes to ask questions? Yeah, he's ours :) Eli LOVES to ask Coach Jimmy questions during the game. Unfortunately, a couple of times it was to ask if it was his turn to take a break. LOL! I just about died! I finally told him that he was not allowed to ask that question anymore! He'd get a break when Coach Jimmy said he could. We're definitely going to have to work on his endurance and stamina :)

The game finally ended and then it was time to shake hands with the other team. Our one little girl on our team quickly told those boys how to get in line. She's got some definite leadership skills. 

Our team got their first win! Woo hoo! What a great start to Eli's first soccer season. 

Mom's Birthday Weekend

September 23rd was my mom's birthday, so the weekend before her birthday Eli and I went to visit her and my dad. Andrea, my sister-in-law, and I wanted to treat my mom to a girls' day out and get pedicures and go shopping. We left Tinsley with my brother and Eli with my dad and then left to go enjoy our day out. We made plans to meet up with them for lunch after our pedicures were over. 

Tinsley was in a great mood at lunch and I got some cute pictures of her. Eli is taking a lot more interest in her, especially since he found out that she can walk. His face was priceless when he saw her walking on her own. He ran up to me and said, "Mommy! Look! Tinsley's walking all by huh-self!"

After lunch, we left to go shop a little bit and then we met back up at Mom and Dad's house for supper and to watch the LSU game. Everyone wore their LSU gear to cheer the tigers on that night. 

Tinsley was rocking her skinny jeans, pocket tee, and baby Toms. 

Josh and Andrea had to get up early the next morning to go to the Saints game, so Mom and Dad ended up getting Tinsley at their house that night. I woke up the next morning to this...

Looks like we have another Toy Story addict on our hands. I'm so glad this game is only played at Grammy and Pop's house. 

We let Eli and Tinsley play a little bit longer and it was so cute to watch her and Eli together. She loved following him and kept saying, "Eeee!" I wish we could have stayed longer, but Eli and I had to get on the road. He had his very first soccer game and we didn't want to be late! I know I've said this fifty times since they moved, but I'm so glad my parents are closer! I had such a great time celebrating my mom's birthday with her and the rest of my family :) Happy Birthday, Mom! I love you so much!
