Happy Halloween-2013

This year for Halloween my little man decided he wanted to go as Batman. He's starting to really develop a love for superheroes and Batman seems to have edged out Spiderman. It changes on a daily basis though, but on this day Batman was the definitely the coolest. Eli didn't have to wear his uniform to school on this day so he got to wear the glow in the dark Halloween shirt we picked out earlier that month. He loved it! Before getting dressed in his Batman costume, I convinced him to let me take some pictures of him on the stairs :)

Cutie patootie!

He changed into his Batman costume and then we took some pictures of him in it before leaving for his school. He was so excited to be dressed as his favorite superhero.

At Eli's school the preschoolers get to parade around the upper elementary, middle, and high school halls and the older kids pass out candy to them. It's such a fun tradition and really builds the community in his school. The older kids really love seeing the little kids dressed in their costumes. Before going trick or treating that morning, Eli's class posed for some pictures together. All their costumes were so cute!

Iron Patriot and Batman

No, wait! It's Logan and Eli :)

I was able to stay with Eli while they trick or treated, but then I had to go back home and change into my costume for my school. I'm so thankful that my principal let me go to Eli's school so I could trick or treat with him. I love that I don't have to miss special events like this!

I hurried home to make a quick change into my costume for school and then headed to my class. My team of 1st grade teachers decided to dress like Disney princesses this year and it was so much fun! Originally, we were all going to dress but it ended up just being the four math teachers. The reading teachers decided to go as witches, but we still had a blast all together.

Sarah went as Sleeping Beauty and I was Belle.

Being a princess was so much fun!

What a fun and exciting Halloween it was! The weather ended up being really nasty that night so we weren't able to go trick or treating through our neighborhood, but Eli still racked up on plenty of candy! I'm glad that even though the weather wasn't perfect, we still were able to have lots of fun!

My 32nd Birthday

I've noticed that as I get older birthdays seem to be just another day. I definitely don't get "giddy" about them like I used to when I was younger, but I've never been one to get depressed about turning another year older. I've always felt like I was an "old soul" :) Plus, a good friend told me that her 30's were some of the best years of her life, so I think I've always welcomed adding another digit to my age. I've definitely enjoyed my 30's so far and I'm looking forward to all that 32 holds in store for me.

After getting home from work on my birthday (Side note: There should be a universal rule that you don't have to work on your birthday.) Eli and Josh gave me my birthday presents that they picked out for me. Eli was very excited to give me the gifts he had picked out especially for me.

My special blue necklace that Eli made me promise I'd wear to school the next day :)

New running socks

The absolute best thing about my birthday though was getting to share it with Josh and Eli. My life is so full and so blessed with these two boys in it. I'm so thankful for every day I get to spend with them. I'm thankful for the 32 years that God has blessed me with so far on this earth and I'm looking forward to many more years with these two.

Chasing Balloons and Visiting with Family

The weather on Saturday proved to be too unfavorable for the hot air balloons to fly, but Sunday morning I woke up to a text alerting me that the balloons were going to be flying. Woo Hoo! We made some coffee, bundled up in our jackets and coats, and made our way to the mall where the balloons were going to be.

We got there pretty early and were able to claim a great spot to watch the balloons. It wasn't long before balloons started to fill up the sky!

Once most of the balloons had flown over the mall, we noticed that they were flying along the levee and heading towards the empty fields. We decided to chase them so we could watch them as they landed.

It was such a fun morning chasing balloons with my boys! We came home and had a couple hours before Grammy, Pop, Caleb, and Tinsley came to visit so we headed outside so Eli could practice baseball. Josh already has him in training and the difference between his batting skills in the spring and now is amazing. Now he can hit the ball even without the tee! I'm so proud of him and it looks like this season of t-ball is going to be really fun!

Grammy, Pop, Tinsley, and Uncle Caleb all came in for a quick visit to see Eli and to give me my birthday gifts (YAY!) My mom and dad gave me a wooden monogram for our front door and my brother Caleb and his girlfriend Kailey gave me a Starbucks gift card. I loved all my birthday gifts! I love that since they live so close now these short trips are now possible.

Tinsley really LOVED my birthday cupcakes that Mom and Dad brought.

I could just eat her up :)

It was a very busy Sunday, but such a fun one. I love days like this that I can spend with my family :)
