Early in December, Eli got to experience another FIRST...his first Christmas parade! The weather was a little chilly, but we bundled him up in his hat and jacket and he was perfectly fine. Josh's work had a float in the parade and Eli and I were going to ride on it, but I thought it was too chilly for him to ride, so we just went and looked at the float before the parade. Maybe next year we'll get to ride on the float. They did a great job decorating though! Their theme was "All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth" and some of the employees and their kids blacked out their front teeth to make it look more real. They also had the song going the entire time. It was really cute!
One of the fun things about living in a small town is that EVERYONE comes out for any kind of special event and the parade was no exception! There were people everywhere lining the highway for the parade. We found a great parking spot in the middle of the parade route and met lots of friends and family nearby. Zue-Zue, Mammy, Mamaw Chandler, Jordan, Lisa, Ariane, Peyton, and several more friends from church were all there to watch the parade with us.
Eli had a wonderful time. There was so much too see and he was intent on taking it all in. He attached himself to his cousin Jordan this particular day. She's expecting a little girl, Addison, in May, so Eli's helping her get some practice before then. She's going to a be a great Mommy!
The parade was so much fun! Josh, Jordan, Ariane, and I scored lots of candy and Eli even got to try his first sucker. He was a BIG fan of that! It was a great day and it really got everyone in the Christmas spirit!
Your new camera takes awesome pictures. I can tell a huge difference.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad we didn't get to experience Eli's first parade with you guys! Glad he had fun.
Hey I was wondering what Kind of camera do you have? It takes awesome pics and pops out Eli's eyes! Love reading your blog. I think I came across it from Shonda.
ReplyDeletePS I am about to get a new camera and that is why I am asking.
