Eli's first trip to see the Easter bunny in Shreveport last year went really well. He and the Easter bunny chilled, talked about what he was going to bring Eli for Easter, and then Eli got bored with the entire exchange.
Eli's trip to see the Easter bunny this year didn't go as well. We went to see the Easter bunny in Monroe (the same day we went to the zoo). We saw the Easter bunny from a distance and everything was great. Eli waved to him. He pretended to give him five. I asked Eli if he was going to sit by the Easter bunny; he'd say yes. I asked Eli if he was going to touch the Easter bunny's ears; he'd say yes. Then we walked up to the Easter bunny and all that went out the window. He was scared to death! He clung to me and wouldn't let go and kept saying, "No! No! No!" I wasn't going to scar him for life, so we said good-bye to the bunny and left without a picture. Josh was able to get this one, but as you can see, Eli was having no part in giving the Easter bunny five. He just left him hanging.
After being saved from that ghastly event by Grammy, they went to look at the Easter bunny from a much safer viewing distance. Once again, Eli was all smiles. He told the bunny hi. He waved to him. He even told him good-bye. Oh well, there's always next year....maybe!
