Easter Sunday

Easter morning Eli got up and we went into the living room to see what the Easter bunny had left for him the night before. Eli got so much stuff, not just from the Easter bunny either. We are so blessed to have so many people in our life that love and care about Eli. He got so many gifts from our family and friends. Thank you all for loving our little boy so much!

Josh and Eli sat on the floor and Josh helped Eli open a few of his Easter eggs to see what goodies they had inside them. Eli was very happy to see that his Easter eggs had mini M&M's inside! He's only had those once before and he loved them then. What kid wouldn't?

Josh sampled some and, as you can see, Eli followed suit. Yum, yum!

We got ready for church and I must say that Eli was the cutest thing I'd ever seen! I ordered this suit for him about 2 months ago from Babies-R-Us and I was so excited about him wearing it. I just knew he would look like a little southern gentleman.

Our church service was wonderful and after I picked Eli up from the nursery, I had him pose for a couple of pictures outside near the flowers.

Hannah Hargon was there, too, and Eli attempted to give her a hug, but she just wasn't feeling it. Ha ha! Isn't she precious in her sweet little dress though?

And here's a picture of the happy couple :) I forced Josh to take this picture with me because he absolutely hates posed pictures. He was a good husband though and obliged me with this one picture. Thanks, babe!

After Eli took a little nap, we changed clothes and he got to open yet even more Easter gifts. Mamaw and Papaw gave him a gardening set complete with a rake, hoe, and shovel. Zue-Zue gave him some gears that you can move around and watch move. Eli was really excited about both gifts.

While he was playing with Daddy, Zue-Zue and I went outside to "hide" Easter eggs. In this case, "hide" means we threw them out in the middle of the yard where Eli could easily find them. I knew he would lose interest quickly if he had to do major searching, so we'll save that for when he's older.

Eli came outside with us and immediately said, "es!" (eggs) I had to carry his bucket for him, but he did such a great job going around the yard and picking up every "es" he found. What was even cuter was how he would shake each egg to see if it had something inside it.

After he found all his eggs, he went through them and shook each one again and then opened each one to see what goodies were inside.

He was quite disappointed when he saw that the eggs contained Gerber fruit snacks instead of mini M&M's.

The weather was so pretty so we stayed outside after Eli's egg hunt and played football, talked, and soaked up some sunshine (after applying sunscreen very liberally that is!). Eli wanted to sit in the chair like a big boy, but got hot after awhile so he moved to another chair in the shade. Mamaw got him some water and that made him feel much better. In fact, that water did wonders because I was able to get some really good pictures of him in the chair afterwards.

He got tired of pictures and decided he needed to cool off again. What better way to cool off than to splash water on your face? What a silly, silly boy!

What a great day Easter was for the Wilson family! Next year is going to be even more fun because Eli's newest cousins, Grant and Addison, will be here and we'll have three little kiddos hunting Easter eggs! How fun!
