This past weekend was SUPER BUSY for our family. Josh's Aunt Lisa, Uncle Dave, and his cousin, Allison, and her boyfriend, Spencer, all drove in from Tennessee for Memorial Day weekend. They wanted to meet the two newest members of our family, Grant and Addison. Allison had never met Eli, so I'm going to say they came for him, too :)
We went to Mamaw's house Friday night to meet them when they arrived and it wasn't long before the baby hogs started appearing. Everyone wanted to hold the little bitty babies. It's a good thing babies sleep a lot during those first few weeks, because Addison and Grant got passed around like hot potatoes. Plus, it helps that Addison is the hardest little sleeper I know. She only wakes up to nurse, but 10 minutes later she's finished and in a milk coma for another 2 hours. It's the funniest thing I've ever seen! Jordan has tried everything she can think of to get that baby awake, too.
During the "Invasion of the Baby Snatchers", we quickly found out that Eli IS jealous of the attention that Addison and Grant are getting, but only if certain people are holding the babies. Mamaw, Papaw, Zue-Zue, and Mommy are NOT allowed to hold the babies, look at the babies, change the babies, talk to the babies, etc. In fact, when we first got to their house Addison's Poppa, Josh's Uncle Reggie, was holding her. Mamaw and Papaw were looking at Addison and when Eli saw that, he went to both of them, grabbed their hands, and said "Mone, Mamaw. Mone, Papaw." and led them AWAY from Addison holding their hands the entire time. It's definitely going to take awhile for him to get used to the fact that these babies aren't going anywhere, but I think he'll be fine in the end...at least, I hope so!
Here are the Baby Snatchers in random order:
Before Lisa and Dave moved back to Tennessee, they lived in California for a little while. Lisa bought Addison and Grant coordinating tie-dyed onesies from California. Jessie and Jordan were really excited about their special gifts.
The rest of the night involved passing the babies back and forth to people mostly. Eli and I went home around 8:00 so he could go to sleep. We knew that the rest of the weekend was going to be very full, so he needed a good night's sleep!
Just so you know, I was very excited to see Eli, too! He is THE sweetest, smartest, cutest, most fun li'l guy I ever did know (besides my own li'l guy who's about to be 24!) and I love him.
