Blowing Bubbles at the Pool

Our summer this year has been all about the pool! It's so hot where we live that in order to get out of the house everyday, you HAVE to do something involving water or you're going to be miserable. Thank goodness for Mr. Art and Mrs. Vera letting us use their pool! I don't know what we would do without them!

The last time we were there I looked up to find Eli practicing blowing bubbles in the water. Getting his face wet has been one of the biggest obstacles for him to overcome this year in the pool. Even though I did everything that the books said to do about helping your baby not be afraid of water, he still is paranoid, not necessarily afraid, of getting his face wet. This was a big step in the right direction for him, especially since it was initiated by himself!

I loved watching him practice blowing bubbles in the water. He was so serious and kept concentrating on what he needed to do. Hopefully, he'll start initiating more activity like this in the water and he'll be swimming like a little fish before I know it!
