The next morning we woke up and got dressed for our second day at the Disney parks. Today we were going to spend our entire day at Magic Kingdom. We couldn't wait! Eli put on his button, grabbed Mickey, and was ready to go!
It was pretty cloudy that day, but no rain. Woo Hoo! We packed ponchos just in case, but we were so glad we didn't have use them at all that day. Other than it being cloudy, the weather was perfect!
We entered the Magic Kingdom and let the memory making begin!
First, we had to take the customary pictures in front of Cinderella's castle. I wish we had gotten one of the three of us, but for some reason we didn't. We were probably thinking about everywhere we needed to go to make the most of our day at Magic Kingdom!
The main thing Eli kept talking about was riding the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin ride. When we were planning our Disney vacation we went to the website and watched the videos about each park. There was a clip of some kids riding the Buzz Lightyear ride and Eli got so excited about it! We headed to Tommorrowland first to begin our day. The line for the Buzz ride was kind of long, so we got a FastPass (those things are the greatest things ever!) and while we waited for our time to return we enjoyed the show at the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor. Once again, my poor son was worried that it was going to be scary (that BUGZ show really scared him!), but we assured him that it was going to be funny not scary!
Thankfully, we were correct! Whew! Not scary at all, but very funny. Eli really enjoyed this show. After the show, it was time for us to go back to the Buzz Lightyear ride. Eli could barely contain his excitement! We boarded our vehicle, got our laser guns ready, and prepared to battle Emperor Zurg. My boys loved shooting the laser guns at the targets and racking up points. In the end, we won and Zurg was defeated.Woo Hoo!
When we got off the ride, we walked outside and immediately spotted Eli's favorite character of all time...Buzz Lightyear. He was genuinely thrilled about meeting Buzz! We waited in line and before we knew it Eli was meeting his favorite space ranger.
We headed to the Astro Orbiter next and Eli and Josh piloted their own rocket-ship above Tomorrowland. Eli loved having the control to make the rocket ship go up and down.
To finish up Tomorrowland, the boys went to the Tomorrowland Speedway. I don't have any pictures of this because while the boys were waiting in line, I was getting us some food. Josh said he and Eli had lots of fun though. Eli loved getting to drive his very own race car.
We made our way over to Fantasyland (the newest addition to Magic Kingdom) and started scouting out the rides there. One of the rides I really wanted to do was the Mad Tea Party ride. I had been looking forward to sitting in a teacup and whirling around, but it was closed. Oh well, it was probably for the best because I get motion sickness now pretty easily for some reason. If we ever go back again though and it's open, I definitely want to ride it!
We wanted to take Eli on a roller coaster and Goofy's Barnstormer sounded like the perfect ride to start. We made our way into Storybook Circus and we passed by Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride. It was a classic Disney ride, so we HAD to ride it! Eli and I did this one together while Daddy waited and took pictures of us. The coolest thing about this ride was that you didn't have to stand in a line the entire time you were waiting. You walk into a huge playroom and are given a pager like in a restaurant. While your kids are playing in the air conditioned playroom you can sit back and relax until they buzz you. It was very nice! After about 15 minutes, it was our turn! We had lots of fun getting to fly with Dumbo.
Josh had gotten us FastPasses for Goofy's Barnstormer, so while we waited for our turn we took a nice relaxing ride on the Walt Disney World Railroad. It only took 20 minutes and we were able to go around the entire park. We all really enjoyed it.
While we were riding, we started prepping Eli for the roller coaster. We told him he had to hold his hands in the air and shout "Wheeee!" He started practicing on the train ride :)
We did Goofy's Barnstormer ride, but I don't have many pictures of it because it was so quick! With our FastPasses we walked right up, got on the ride, and about 45 seconds later we were finished. Eli was a little disappointed with how quick the ride was. As we pulled back into the station he exclaimed, "That was it?!" We assured him that we were going to find a much bigger and longer roller coaster for him to ride.
We started to walk back towards Cinderella's castle because we had dinner reservations in the Main Street square at Tony's Restaurant. On our way we passed Ariel's Grotto and saw the Under the Sea-Journey of the Little Mermaid ride and decided to ride it real quick. We boarded our clamshell and got to watch scenes from the story The Little Mermaid come to life. Seeing as this was one of my all-time favorite Disney movies as a little girl, I particularly enjoyed singing along to all the songs while we were traveling through the story. Josh might have been a little embarrassed that his 31 year old wife knew every word to every song, but I was just reliving my childhood :)
We made it back to Cinderella's castle and still had a few minutes before we needed to check in at the restaurant so Eli and I rode Prince Charming's Regal Carousel. Who doesn't love a carousel ride?
We found a nice person to take our picture in front of the castle, but he forgot to include the castle. Oh well, it's still a nice picture of the three of us :)
After my little photo-op in front of the castle, it was time to eat and to sit for a minute before going back out to ride more rides and see more shows! Tony's Town Square Restaurant was very nice. We all enjoyed our food.
Eli loved his ice cream dessert with Mickey Mouse sprinkles.
Josh loved his blueberry cheesecake!

After dinner, it was time to head back out and squeeze every ounce of fun we could into the time that remained! We passed by the Sword and the Stone and I told Eli that if he pulled it out of the stone, he'd become King. He tried his hardest and even had Daddy to help him, but when they couldn't pull it out, he got really sad and muttered, "But Mommy, I really did want to be King."
The line for Mickey's Philharmagic show was not long at all, so we did that 3D show and loved it. It was really cute and fun! Eli was worried (again) that it was going to be scary, especially when the lights in the theater darkenened, but he ended up laughing a lot! The 3D effects were great!
We saw that the line for It's a Small World was extremely short so we did that ride too. It was one of the "old-school" rides and I'm glad I did it. Eli loved riding in the boat and getting to see all the different puppets from all the countries.
Rapuzel's Tower
Our last rides for the night were going to be Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We timed it just right and went when the Main Street Electrical Parade was going on, so the lines on both of these rides were ridiculously short. First up was Splash Mountain! Eli LOVED it! He laughed and smiled so much the entire time we rode this ride.
Then it was time for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. He wasn't nervous at all and as soon as we boarded he threw his hands in the air and started saying "Wheee!" Josh and I probably enjoyed watching him enjoy the ride than the ride itself. It was so much fun to see Eli so happy. We pulled back into the station and Eli immediately asked to ride it again. The lines were still incredibly short, so we went back around and did it a second time. I think we created a roller coaster junkie :)
That was the end of our Magic Kingdom experience for this day. We didn't get to do every ride that we wanted to, but we knew that we were coming back our last day. We made our way towards the exit and passed by the cooler light up spinning toys that Eli wanted. He'd had such a great day and so we decided to make it even better by letting him get this toy. He was the happiest little boy ever that night!
Lots of memories were made and we couldn't wait to make more!
