Christmas Eve was spent relaxing, watching Christmas movies, organizing our new stuff from both family Christmases, and getting our house ready for Santa. Josh had to work half a day, but once he got home he helped make sure our house was ready for the big guy's arrival.
Once it got near bedtime there were several things we had to do before Eli went to bed for the night. First up was making the special reindeer food for Santa's reindeer. Eli's favorite part of this activity is always adding the sugar sprinkles to help give the reindeer energy. He sometimes goes a little overboard but that's okay.
I always get Eli a pair of new Christmas pajamas and I found these at an online boutique during Black Friday. I thought they were super cute. They're a little big but I'm okay with that because he'll be able to wear them next year, too.
Here is the finished product. Santa's reindeer were really going to enjoy their treat!
Josh and Eli headed outside to spread the food on the grass for the reindeer. Eli was so excited!
Next up on our list of things to do was making cookies for Santa. Santa really enjoys chocolate chip cookies, which I had already made earlier in the day, but he also likes sugar cookies. Eli and I set out to make him the best sugar cookies ever.
Once again Eli's favorite part is putting the sprinkles on the cookies.
Once the cookies were in the oven, it was time for Eli to say good-bye to Elfis. Tonight was the last night he was going to be with us this year. Eli was sad, but he knew that he'd see Elfis again next year. He told Elfis that he was going to miss him, but he knew that he was going to have fun being back at the North Pole.
The cookies finished baking and Eli selected which ones he wanted Santa to have. Then he made sure to pour Santa a tall glass of cold milk.
We took one more picture of Eli with Santa's cookies and milk and then it was time for Eli to go to bed. He knew that Santa would not come until he was fast asleep! We read our last Christmas book and then all of us went to bed. We couldn't wait to wake up in the morning to see what Santa had brought!
