Disney World-Day Four (Magic Kingdom)

We woke up early on Thursday for our last day at Disney World :( We'd had so much fun and planned to pack as much fun into our last day as possible.

We walked into Magic Kingdom and the first things we spotted was the "Dream Along with Mickey" show in front of Cinderella's castle. Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Minnie, Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and so many other characters were there to sing along with Mickey. Once again, I think I enjoyed it a lot more than my boys :)

After the show, it was off to Adventureland! We were ready to have some fun!

First, we climbed and explored the Swiss Family Treehouse. Josh had never read the book or seen the Disney movie as a kid, so once again I felt like I got more out of it than my boys did. My brothers and I loved that movie as kids. It was the realest looking fake tree I'd ever seen :)

We got fast passes to go on the Jungle Cruise and while we waited for that we took a ride on The Magic Carpets of Aladdin.

Eli loved the "spitting" camels :)

We still had time before we had to return for the Jungle Cruise so we rode the Pirates of the Caribbean. I loved seeing the attraction that inspired all the movies about Captain Jack Sparrow.

We even got a glimpse of Captain Jack Sparrow afterwards :) He was up to no good as always.

Finally it was time for the Jungle Cruise.

This was our riverboat captain for our cruise. He was really funny.

At the end of the ride, he let Eli "steer" the boat back to the dock. Eli took his job so seriously; it was so cute to watch! Our captain even let Eli borrow his hat for a quick picture.

Showing off his official "Guest Captain" card.

We headed over to Frontierland after this to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad one more time. Eli will say that the Buzz Lightyear rides were his favorite, but the smile on his face as he rode the roller coaster was from ear to ear. He may not realize it, but I think he enjoyed it more :) We had "lupper" (Lunch/Supper) reservations at the Liberty Tree Tavern at 4:00 so we had time for one more ride before it was time to go there. We went to Tom Sawyer Island to go explore.

There were lots of fun paths, tunnels, and place to explore on Tom Sawyer Island. Eli loved being the leader and telling us which way to go. After we had explored the entire island, we boarded our raft to head back to the mainland.  We made our way to Liberty Tree Tavern and enjoyed a nice meal. The food was really good and was the closest thing to "home cooking" we'd had all week.

After eating, we went to the Country Bear Jamboree.

My grandfather would have loved this show because the bears sang lots of the old, old country songs. Eli laughed at the bears. We found a souvenir penny place near the Country Bear Jamboree and Eli was able to make two Disney World pennies to remember his trip. I always loved doing this as a kid.

While we waited for our reservation at the Liberty Tree Tavern, Josh and Eli went to get FastPasses for the Peter Pan ride. Every single time we had gone by the ride that day, the wait time had been ridiculous! That was really the only new ride left that we wanted to do, so we hoped that the FastPasses would work!

Our FastPass time was still about an hour away, but we went by after Frontierland to go see what the stand-by wait time was. It was only 30 minutes. We decided to go ahead and stand in line and wait it out. This was one of my favorite rides at Magic Kingdom. You board a Pirate Ship and float over scenes from the movie Peter Pan.

We had time for one last ride before going back to the resort that night so we did Splash Mountain one last time. What a great day at Magic Kingdom and what a wonderful, wonderful week at Disney World.

Eli and I used our last snack option on our dining plan to get a fruity treat before heading back. What a great ending to our day!

We went back to the resort and started packing up to head home the next day. We decided to head down to Downtown Disney and then to call it a night.

We took Eli to the World of Disney to spend the last of his money on some souvenirs. That took forever! There was so much to decide between. Finally, with some help from Mommy and Daddy, he spent the last of his money. I opted out of buying a souvenir because I knew I'd much rather make a big photobook of our stay.

We found a place to eat and then relaxed. Eli showed off his new purchases, Rex from Toy Story, and Pluto. He was so happy!

We went back to the resort and finished packing and then went to bed. The next morning we were up bright and early ready to head home. We left early enough that we were able to enjoy some doughnuts, milk, and coffee at the airport before our flight home.

It was such an incredible week. I absolutely loved watching my little boy get to meet his favorite characters, ride fun rides, and experience the "magic" of Disney World. We made memories that we'll remember for all the years to come. I can't wait to go back!
