Being a school teacher definitely has its perks when it comes to breaks during the school year. Just when you think you can't handle any more, you get a week off from school. Hallelujah! This year my school's spring break was SOOOOO late. End of April people. That's late! Unfortunately for me, Eli's school had already had their spring break so we didn't get the week off together. It ended up working out okay though. I was able to get some stuff done around the house, work on my school's yearbook (I'm the editor), and pretend to be a stay-at-home mommy/wife. I loved it!
I picked a couple of days during the week to pick Eli up early so we could get some yummy after school treats. One afternoon we had fun sidewalk painting. Eli really loved that. It's so easy to make and it washes right off! That same afternoon, we had to go pick up some adirondack chairs a guy made for us and we got to feed his miniature donkeys and swing on his tire swing! That was an unexpected fun experience. And to cap off the week, on Friday I surprised him and Hannah by checking them out early from school for an afternoon of fun-McDonald's PlayPlace (a HUGE step for me because I NEVER let Eli play on it because of germs, germs, germs! I figured one day wouldn't be too bad, but we definitely scrubbed our hands afterwards!!), yogurt, and then swimming.

Sweetest kids ever!
I even got a bonus day off from school because little man decided to run fever Sunday night before I had to go back to school. He still had a low grade fever Monday morning so we played it safe and stayed home. I was able to get some serious cuddle time in with my little guy and enjoyed every second of it! His fever broke around lunch time and he was back to normal after that! We had a great day at home together :)
It was such a great week of relaxation and fun for me. I went back to school on Tuesday refreshed and ready to get through the next three weeks of school. Summer would be here before I knew it!
It is bizarre that you have only 3 weeks of school after spring break!
