The Day Pigs Flew (A.K.A The Day the Saints Won the Super Bowl!)
Super Bowl Sunday all three members of the Wilson family donned their Saints gear and got ready for church. Our church had announced the week before that it would be casual Sunday and for everyone to wear black and gold to support the Saints. Eli wore his Saints shirt and grabbed his favorite monkey, Mo, and waited for Josh and I to finish getting ready.

He was in such a good mood and I was able to snap a couple of pictures of the Saints' cutest fan! Check out the mohawk, too! Remember he has my wavy hair, so his mohawks usually curl. :)

After church we went over to Mamaw Chandler's house for some lunch. Eli practiced his climbing skills. As if he needed any more practice with this particular skill! He's a climbing fool!

After we ate lunch, I unleashed my inner bakerella and made these adorable Oreo truffle footballs that were featured on the REAL Bakerella's website here. These turned out so cute and they were SO EASY to make! Everyone loved them!

Soon it was time for us to leave for our Super Bowl party over at the Welch's. They host the best football parties so we couldn't wait to go see them and visit with everyone else.
We got to the Welch's a little early so we walked next door to see Beppa and Cliff and their dog, Sassy. Eli was quite taken with Sassy and luckily for us Sassy is so gentle. She let Eli play with her tail, rub her, and pet her all he wanted. I think he would have taken Sassy home with him if we would have let him.

The boys, I mean, men, started a game of catch and Greg Randall showed Eli how the professionals snap the football.

Eli caught on pretty quickly, but decided he would rather coach instead. Here he is calling a few plays from the sidelines.

The boys didn't run the play the way he wanted him to, so he grabbed the football and had to show them himself. I guess if you want something done right you've got to do it yourself!

While the game was going on, MeMaw Tim and Cliff were manning the grill. MeMaw Tim was in charge of the burgers and sausage. Cliff was in charge of his infamous cream cheese and jalapeno stuffed deer tenderloin. Oh yeah! It's even better than it sounds!

It was pretty cold outside, so Eli and I went inside to check on "B" and everyone else. Eli is in love with the deer that is in their office. As soon as he gets inside their house, it's the first place he wants to go to every time.

Look at the great tablescape that "B" made for our Super Bowl party. She always does a great job making everything look fun and festive!

And the food...There was so much yummy food at our party. Hamburgers, deer sausage, deer tenderloin, chicken dip, cream cheese with hot pepper jelly, spinach dip, humus dip, guacamole, sausage and cheese, and so much more. I was in pig out heaven!

After the game got started, Eli became pretty fascinated with the french doors in B's living room. He loved playing peek a boo with us!

When he got tired of that game, he found B's toys and played with those for a little bit...

Then he decided the french doors would be fun again :) He's never still!

Pretty soon, it was time for him to go home. He called for his taxi (Mom) and we left the Welch's after the halftime show.

We got home and watched the rest of the game while Eli drank his milk before going to bed. We were ecstatic when the Saints won their very first Super Bowl! Way to go, Saints! It was a great night and the big win made it even better!

Future Musician in the Making
I guess Eli better start working on his acceptance speech for the Grammy's :) He is in love with all things pertaining to music and I am so happy about that! I love music, but don't have an ounce of musical ability in me. Luckily, Eli seems to take after his daddy and not his mama. The other day at Mamaw Chandler's house, Eli entertained all who were at the table with his rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and a song that is an Eli original yet to be named. He was pretty impressed with himself as you can tell in the picture of him covering his mouth in surprise. Seriously though, I really hope that Eli learns to play some type of musical instrument one day. Josh keeps telling him that playing the guitar will land him a wife...hey, it worked for Josh! :) You never know what could happen! :)

Way Up High
Eli loves riding on top of his Daddy's shoulders. It's one of his favorite things to do these days.
Josh used to have to hold his hands the entire time he was on his shoulders because Eli couldn't support himself, but now he doesn't have to. Just another reminder of just how big my little boy is getting to be!

15 months old
*Please note that I do most of this from memory and do not go back and compare the months while I am typing each new milestone post. I may post things that I've already said again, but just read over those points. I'm just a proud Mama and love writing about my little boy's accomplishments :)
Physically:
-Running through the house all day long and loving every minute of it!
-Walking backwards
-Stacking blocks and loving knocking them down
-Swiffering, mopping, and sweeping the floors
-Climbing his Little Tikes climb and slide tower
-Sliding down the slide on his back and on his belly
-Taking his diaper off (did this today for the first time! Josh thought I had forgotten to put one on him!)
-Shaking his finger and saying "No, no"
-Loves wrestling with his Daddy and finding his belly button and other people's belly buttons! (If you ask him to show you his, he's going to ask you to show yours to him! Just get ready!)
-Pointing to his ears, eyes, nose, mouth, and tongue when asked
-Gives hugs, kisses, and pats on request now :)
-Writing on the side of the tub with his bath crayons (favorite thing to do in the bathtub these days!)
Verbally:
-Understanding SO many words and phrases these days
-I forgot what I posted previosly, so here are all the words he can say now..."ma-ma", "da-da", "pop", "mam-maw", "pa-paw", "kitty", "ball" "bye-bye", "no, no", "cheese", "maggie", "blocks", "balloon", "hot", "ice", "banana", "chicken" (on some of these words he only gets a few of the sounds out, but you know exactly what he is saying)
-can make the sound that a tiger says and we're working on all the other animals
Personality:
-Happy, happy, happy most of the day....but on occasion he's starting to (see next point)
-Display lots of stubbornness
-We've seen the first "stomping his feet fit" and it wasn't pretty...let's hope that doesn't happen much more!
-Still very very attached to Mommy. Rarely cries when I leave him in the mornings, but is so very excited when I come home. I love it! Dara said he's gone around her house saying "Ma-ma?" and holding up his hands asking where I am
-Loves to play, play, play, and then play some more. Seriously, he NEVER stops! That's one of the reasons why feeding him is so hard. He'd rather play!
Sleeping:
-Most days he'll take a nap at Dara's house and then nap again for about an hour when he gets home every day (he's worn out from playing so hard all day long!) There have been the occasional day though where he didn't nap for her at all. Sometimes it's hard to get him to stop playing and settle down.
-He still goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:00 every night. He'll usually sleep in his crib MOST of the night. I'm not putting him in our bed anymore because I'm scared he'll roll off (he did that once, didn't hit anything at all, but it SCARED ME TO DEATH, so I'm through with that...big run-on sentence...I know!) He and I have ended up on the couch some nights though. All I can say is we're working on it. That's the best I can say right now :)
Eating:
-Still picky, picky, picky
-Lately eggs have been his favorite thing. He just gobbles them up!
-His diet mostly includes the following foods on a daily basis: regular milk, chocolate milk, cheese, yogurt, fruit, Puffs, cereal bars, and cereal.
-He still won't eat vegetables consistently. Although, today he did eat a lot of corn, but, technically, that's a grain, so I guess that doesn't even count!
-He'll eat chicken nuggets, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, and grilled cheese on occasion, but it just depends on his mood.
-He hasn't lost any weight from being picky though, so something is sticking to his little bones!
-He hasn't been completely weaned from the bottle, but once again, we're working on it! He doesn't get one at all during the day. We encourage him to drink out of his sippy cup when he eats during the day. He still gets a bottle at 5:30 every morning like clockwork and at night before going to bed. Tonight, in fact, he drained his 6 oz. bottle and then looked at Zue-Zue and signed "more" because he was still hungry. How cute is that? She got him more milk, too, in case you were wondering! We go see Dr. R next week, so I'm hoping she'll give me some suggestions on weaning from the bottle and improving his eating habits.
There is probably so much more I could write about this precious little boy, but it's getting late and I know this is a long post already. Eli is the light of our lives. Every day with him gets better and better. He's SO MUCH FUN! I'm so happy God chose me to be his Mommy! :)

Closure
Dear Baby,
We never got the chance to meet, but that doesn't mean I don't think about you or dream about you. Over the past nine months, you have been in my thoughts a lot. Today was the day you were supposed to make your grand appearance in this world. Oh, and what a wonderful day it would have been. Your Daddy and I were so excited when we first found out about you; everyone was! We were all so surprised that we were going to have a second baby so soon, but we were so happy as well. You and your big brother, Eli, would have been almost exactly 15 months apart had you been born today. WOW! That would have been very interesting for us, but we were ready to take that challenge. Two babies under two! It would have been fun, that's for sure!
I'm sad today though, because you're not here. Almost a month after we found out you were in my tummy, we found out that you went to be with Jesus. Oh, how my heart broke! How it still breaks every time I think about that day. I contemplated not even blogging about this, but I felt like I owed it to you. I wanted you and everyone else to know how much you meant to me even though I only knew you for four weeks. You were my baby. No, I didn't know if you were a girl or boy; I never got to pick out a name for you or decorate a nursery for you; I never even felt you move. I was flipping through the journal I started for you the day I found out I was pregnant with you and saw your first picture. You were so tiny! It's amazing how you can fall in love with something so tiny. It's amazing how you can grieve and hurt over someone you've never even met. Even though we never met though, you were mine. I remember wondering if I would fall in love with you the way I fell in love with Eli and you know what? I did. My heart didn't have to share it's love; it just grew and doubled from the moment I found out about you.
There are so many things I wish I knew the answers to...why did you have to leave so early? What do you look like? Are you a boy or a girl? Will you know me when I get to heaven? Will you be grown or still a baby? I know all of those questions have answers that I will never know while I'm here on earth. I'm so thankful that I have a God who does know the answers to all those questions though. I'm so thankful that I have hope that I will see you one day. I'm so thankful that God gave me the strength to get through losing you. I'm so thankful that God knew exactly what he was doing and that he has a perfect plan for my life. I'm so thankful for all this and so much more. I love you, dear one. I miss you and I'm sad that I never got to know you on this earth, but I can't wait until our reunion in heaven. I love you...
