I have found that Eli can get into some pretty precarious situations these days due to his ever increasing mobility. I was in the kitchen washing dishes when I heard a little squeal of delight from under the kitchen countertop. I walked over and this is what I found. He had managed to squeeze himself in the middle of the chair, but couldn't figure out how to get out again. After snapping a few pictures, I decided to video his great escape. Houdini he is not! It took him a little while to figure out that the chair would not magically lift when he stood up. The video is a little long (about 2 minutes), but he is successful at the end :)

Yeah, the great escape! I think I worked just as hard as he did trying to get out. He'd have never made it if I hadn't bent my head down a few seconds before he did. Ha! Love this kid! Such precious expressions!
Eli shows great determination - which may or may not be good for your future in keeping him out of trouble!

I love how you let him figure it out. Good job mom.
That was seriously the cutest thing ever! Love how he was blowing bubbles at the end, my little one used to always do that when she was happy and it made me think Eli was very happy with himself that he finally figured his way out.
I agree w/ mom - great idea! Now he will be able to do it every time. He is such a cutie!
Ha!! It must be a "Debra" thing, I was bending my head down too and working thru it with him. He did a great job, and didn't even fuss! Too precious! Had you guys on my mind and in my prayers all day today.
i was laughing the whole time because that is SUCH a brody thing!! however, i will take your fabulous idea and let brody figure it out next time he's stuck--usually he ends up close to hysterics so i just pick him up because i don't have as much patience as you appear to have. such perseverance little eli has! GREAT JOB, buddy!! =) (and brody would have crawled on me after he was finished, too...so funny!) loved the video!
