Eli and Hannah

Eli got to spend his night in the nursery with his friend Hannah. Hannah is about seven weeks older than Eli, and the daughter of some friends of ours, Diane and Josh. I love the fact that Hannah is a little older than Eli, because I can always get a preview of what Eli will be doing very very soon. Just the other night, Diane showed me how Hannah can get on her hands and knees and rock...WOW! I can't believe my baby is going to be that close to crawling so soon.

Nicki and Belinda kept the nursery tonight and Nicki knows how obsessed I am with pictures (she is too!) so she took these for me! It looks like Hannah, Eli, Nicki, and Belinda had a lot of fun in the nursery. Thanks, Nicki!

Hannah (6 months) and Eli (4 months)

This is what these two looked like just three short months ago.

Look how much they have both changed!

I walked in right before church and Belinda and Nicki had these two facing each other so they could "talk". It was so CUTE! Hannah was smiling so big at Eli. Eli was trying to be cool and play hard to get, but secretly he enjoyed all the adoration :)

Nicki said Eli had a great time in the exersaucer at the church. This particular exersaucer is Jonah's old one. When I found out how much Eli enjoyed playing in this one at church a couple of weeks go, Josh and I went and got one for him to play with at home.

Look at my little future world traveler! He's already studying the globe picking out the countries he's going to visit one day. His Grandpa E (Josh's Dad) would be so proud!

Nick-Nick, I can help you take that picture. I've seen my Mommy take lots of pictures!

Choosing a Paint Color

Choosing the wall color for Eli's room was one of the tougher decisions for me. I wanted something that was bright and cheerful but something that also went with his bedding. Wednesday night at church Mr. Marty, Mrs. Debra, Mr. Art, Dan, Sue, and Mrs. Dee were all more than willing to help me choose a color. Mr. Marty even decided to model Eli's blanket!

(Note: We finally did decide on a color, but actually went a little lighter than what my wonderful helpers chose. Our rooms are tiny and I was scared the first color we picked was going to be too dark. I haven't posted any pictures of his room since it's been painted because I want to wait until everything is set up so you can see it complete.)

Nursery Paintings

Since I knew Mom was coming in this weekend, I made sure to have a project for us while the boys were working on the kitchen. I went to Wal-Mart and bought canvases and painting supplies so we could work on painting pictures for Eli's room. Friday morning we both woke up and after some breakfast got started. I LOVE how they turned out! We painted them to match the bedding that is going to go in the nursery. Here's a picture to remind you what it looks like.

No, the paintings are not perfect, but I think they look really cute. They were painted with lots of love. I can't wait to see them hanging on the walls in his nursery.

Eli's Nursery

Here are pictures of Eli's soon-to-be nursery. Doesn't it look great? I know, I know. There's not much to it now, but it is a work in progress. We had the Glenn's over last week to help us move out some of the big furniture. That was a huge help! Now all we have left to get rid of are these small filing cabinets. Mom and Dad are thinking about coming down this weekend. If they do, Dad and Josh are going to work on the kitchen while Mom and I work on the nursery. I'm going to try my best to take down the wallpaper border. I'm not looking forward to that part, but once that's down all I have to do is choose what paint I want and Mom and I can get to work. Well, really Mom will get to work. I won't be able to be in there much because of the fumes. Maybe she and I will just paint the letters that are going to go above his bed. We'll just have to see what happens. I will post the "after" pictures as soon as there are some!
