The Wilson's Build Their Dream House Update

The water may be rising, but the Wilson's are still continuing with their house building plans. Last week, the roofer finished putting on the roof! It was fun driving down the street and actually seeing the house with a finished roof on it! Eli and I stopped so we could take a tour of the house to see if any more progress had been made on the inside.

If you look closely, you'll see Eli standing on our future front porch.

We went inside and immediately noticed a lot more wood on the inside-more beams and rafters, which makes sense since they finished the roof. Eli sat on the steps leading to the upstairs for a quick picture.

This is the upstairs room by room. First, this is the future office/playroom/storage room.

A view of the inside of that same room.

This is looking across the walkway from this same room to the other side of the house.

This is Josh's future golf room/man cave. He's pretty excited about it!

Another view of the man cave.

We walked downstairs and I took a few pictures looking up. I am amazed at all the wood in my house. I'm more amazed that someone has the skill to know exactly how to place this wood to make a house!

Just like a man, Eli saw a huge riding toy and had to sit on it. He pretended he was driving this particular machine (can you tell I have NO IDEA what this thing is called?) and then I convinced him to walk around the yard with me for a little bit.

Our walk didn't last very long because he found this "bridge" from the garage going into the house and he just had to try that out too.

While we were inside, I noticed that the plumber had begun to lay out all the pipes for our house. Yay! I love progress! Glad things are flowing right along (pun intended!)

Before we left to go back to the rent house, we walked to the back corner of our lot so I could take a picture of the back of the house. As you can see they've wrapped the sides...just in case any water does make its way to our area (not very likely though).

Until the waters of the mighty Mississippi go down a little bit, this is all the progress that's going to be made on the house. We don't think anything is going to happen, but we'd rather be safe than sorry!
