Mother's Day-2014

Five years ago this precious little boy made me a mommy. That's a title I had yearned for and prayed to have for so many years. Now I've had the ultimate joy and pleasure of being his mommy for the past five years and it's a job I don't take lightly. God entrusted this little boy to me to love, nurture, protect, mold, and guide. God blessed my life immeasurably when he gave me Eli. I'm so thankful every day for this little boy and the joy and meaning he has brought to my life. He has made me a better person. He has helped me to see just a glimpse of the love my heavenly father feels for me. He has such a huge portion of my heart. I'm so thankful that I get to be his mommy and I get to watch him grow and develop into the boy God wants him to be. I can't wait to see what God does in his life and I'm glad I get a front row seat :)

I'm also so thankful for the two mothers I have in my life :) To my mom, thank you for being such a great mom. Thank you for always being there and for always understanding. Thank you for encouraging me to be independent and to set goals. Thank you for always pushing me to strive for excellence. Thank you for passing along your love of reading to me. That's a gift I hope to pass to Eli one day. Thank you for being supportive of everything I ever wanted to do. Thank you for crying with me when I was hurt, praying for me during tough times, loving me when I drove you crazy (which hopefully wasn't too often!), laughing with me, celebrating with me, and so much more. Thank you for being a wonderful "Grammy" to Eli. He adores you and I'm so thankful that he has you in his life. It makes my heart so very happy when I see the two of you together. I'm thankful for that gift!

To my bonus mom, Ms. Sue, thank you for everything you do for me and for our family. Thank you for all the times you've put our needs ahead of your own. Thank you for all the meals you've cooked for us. Thank you for passing along the love of cooking to me. I hated it at the beginning, but now it's something I love to do. Thank you for always being there to help us whenever we need it whether it's watching Maggie, cleaning our house, helping us move, picking up Eli, and so much more. Thank you for raising a godly son. You did a great job with Josh. I know it wasn't easy being a single mom, but you raised a wonderful son. He's an incredible husband and father and I thank you for all you did for him. Thank you for all the sacrifices you've made. Thank you for being such a great "Zue-Zue" to Eli. I'm so thankful that he has you in his life! He is very blessed and so am I!

I love you two very much and I'm so thankful for the examples you both continue to set for me. Happy Mother's Day!

What a sweet post! I feel blessed to have you as a daughter-in-law; you are the best wife and mother Josh and Eli could ever have!! I love you with all of my heart.
